Mysuru: Devaraja market is an ever in action place of Mysuru. Even on the day of Ayudha Pooja, it was filled with people who had come to buy flowers and fruits. Market was being visited by alarge number of people since a day before the Ayudha pooja.
People were asking for various variety of flowers to decorate their vehicles and houses. Speaking to News Nirantara, Naganna, a resident of Mysuru said “A small garlan
d also costs around 200 rupees. The prices of flowers have gone very high. Only to earn more and more flower vendors shouldn’t hike the price of flowers too much”.
Siddaiah, a flower vendor of Devaraja market said, “The demand for the flowers is high. We are not saying high price. But during festive season even we have to pay more for the flowers. Even we have to get a bit of profit for having started the business”.
Jasmine, chrysanthemum, rose were the flowers having higher demand. Along with these flowers, tulasi leaves, which are used in pooja also had a good sales in the market. People were seen buying the things that are required for the pooja.
