Xiaomi opens its 500th service center in India, claims to offer ‘best in class’ service delivery

Xiaomi has completed a milestone today by opening its 500th service center in India. The 500th Xiaomi service centre was opened in Bengaluru, the very place it started operations from. This comes after Xiaomi recently opened its first Mi Home store in Bengaluru where customers can experience products and purchase them as well. Xiaomi currently has service centers spanning across 350 cities which include Tier III and IV cities.
Announcing the launch of its 500th service center, Xiaomi India’s Vice President and Managing Director, Manu Jain said, “500 is another milestone for us in our India journey which is a proof point of our dedication towards after sales experience. Today, we have a strong service infrastructure and we want to be known as the benchmark for service delivery in India. While sales is an important element for most brand, after sales is an extremely crucial element for us at Xiaomi and we will continue to work harder to make Xiaomi an even more consumer centric company for our Mi Fans.”
Adding to its laurels, Xiaomi also announced that the company provides the ‘best in class’ service delivery in India, according to a report from IMRB. Xiaomi’s tag of offering the ‘best in class’ delivery service comes from 75 percent customers, according to the IMRB report. The report further states that 93 percent of the customers agree to Xiaomi being a brand which “offers good after sales report”.
Xiaomi is also rated as the highest brand amongst the top five smartphone vendors in India. Xiaomi says that its service centers have a 95 percent rate of repairing smartphones within a day and an 86 percent rate of repair for repairs within four hours. In addition to the 500 service centers, Xiaomi also has two call centers, three repair factories and two warehouses for spare parts.
Xiaomi says that its two call centers house over 600 contact center specialists who address up to 16,000 calls daily. Its repair factories have over 100 engineers with repair units up to 500 PCBA units in a day with a success rate crossing 85 percent. Xiaomi’s communication forum is also elaborated as it says that customers can share their grievances through call centers, live chat, email, social, Mi Community or simply visit a service center. Xiaomi also has its Pick Mi service which offers pick and drop service for repair of products. Xiaomi says that its Pick Mi service is available for over 8,000 pin codes in India.
